Extra Care services
Extra Care provides support for older people with high-care needs, like dementia or Alzheimer's disease, but who would like to live in their own homes.
The scheme offers round-the-clock care and support from staff of around 30 people, helping residents with all of their needs. An organisation called Care Support provides care and support services at Mora Burnet House, while we provide housing management and landlord services. We are also the property owner.
Where is the scheme located?
Mora Burnet House is located in the borough of Camden, in a leafy neighbourhood near Swiss Cottage tube station and the shops on Finchley Road.
You can view and search our schemes for older people on the Housing Care website.
Who qualifies for Extra Care?
You need to be an older person who regularly receives help and support and whose needs require 24-hour care. You need to be a Camden resident and be on Camden Council's housing register.
Do I have to pay?
Yes. If you live in one of our retirement houses, you will have to pay:
- rent,
- service charges,
- your utility bills.
How do I apply?
You, or a person acting on your behalf, should contact the Camden Council Social Work Team on 020 7974 4000 and select "Adult Social Care" when prompted. A social worker will then contact you to complete a comprehensive needs assessment.
