Subletting
You can't sublet your property unless you have purchased 100% ownership of it.
If you are a Shared Owner, we may give permission to sublet your home for up to twelve months in exceptional circumstances.
If you need to sublet your home, please get in touch with us using the form below.
If you own 100% of your property, you are free to sublet your property as long as you complete and return this Consent to Sublet Form. It is important that you arrange for your post to be redirected to your correspondence address as your lease says that Origin Housing must serve notices and other correspondence at the property address.
Either way, whether you own your property or are a Shared Owner, you will always need to speak to your mortgage provider first, as this will change the conditions of your mortgage agreement.
Can I have a lodger?
A lodger is someone who does not form part of your immediate household but who lives in your home.
If you are a Leaseholder or Shared Owner, you must speak with your mortgage provider and review the terms of your lease to see whether you are able to have a lodger.
