Please help us keep your building as secure as possible and ensure you close doors behind you.
We are working in partnership with local councils and the Police to look at all of the options available to us to address issues with homeless people accessing the communal areas of our buildings.
Our Neighbourhood Management Team are working alongside councils, the Police and our contractors where you’ve reported issues to ensure they are addressed.
Some quick reminders that can help keep your building secure:
- Don’t let people into the building unless you know them, and try to ensure nobody follows you into the building.
- If you don’t know who is at the door or you are not expecting a visitor please do not let/buzz them in.
- If there is a homeless person in your building in the first instance, please inform the Police by calling 101. If you are worried about someone or you feel that there is a potential safety risk call 999 immediately. Once the Police are aware please contact us to let us know any details.
- Please do not confront anyone in the building – or put yourself at risk.
- The Police can help remove someone from your building – our colleagues can’t physically intervene in any situation, neither should you.
- Once the issue has been resolved we will thoroughly clean the building, ensure any doors are secure and check to see if there is any additional security we can put in place to stop people getting access to the building again.
