Last week we were delighted to host Keir Starmer MP on a visit to Project 99 – a joint venture between us and our partners at the New Horizon Youth Centre (NHYC). Launched in April this year, Project 99 provides a home along with a wide range of support from NHYC to help formerly homeless 16-21-year-olds enrol on courses, apply for education, find employment and much more. The partnership with Origin provides the residents of Project 99 with everything from hot food, showers and laundry to counselling, drug and alcohol support, health, fitness art and communication workshops. On his visit, Keir Starmer had the opportunity to meet a resident and see first-hand the positive impact the project has had on their life.

Katri Wilson, Assistant Director of Care and Support at Origin is incredibly positive about the visit “It was great to see our local MP, Keir Starmer, to visit our Project 99 and support the work Origin does together with New Horizon Youth Service, to help young homeless people in London.”

Keir Starmer is the Labour MP for Holborn and St Pancras. During the visit he met with our Chief Executive Carol Carter, and the Chief Executive of NHYC Phil Kerry to discuss Project 99 and the role housing associations can have in supporting the communities they are part of.
