Do you need some financial help?

Life can be a struggle for many, especially this time of year, as the days get colder and seasonal challenges leave families with less money to live on, and even more less for those larger essential household items.  As we start the new year, remember there is help through a grant funded by Friends of Origin Housing, a charity supporting our residents.

Grants are available to our residents who are are experiencing financial hardship and people can apply for up to a maximum of £750 per household per year. 

The grant is for essential household items only. Essential items would typically consist of a fridge freezer, cooker, or washing machine and will be purchased from an Origin approved supplier only.  You can also apply for beds or bedding, basic essential furniture, like a chest of drawers and basic kitchen equipment, such as a toaster, kettle, air purifier, air fryer, multi-function microwave or standard microwave oven.

Grants can also be applied for to help with keeping warm, this could include electric blankets, extra warm bedding, hot water bottles or rugs.  

We will be limiting grant applications to no more than two large appliances per household. This will enable us to help more households in 2025.
