Placeshapers is a network of community-focused housing associations we're part of. Together we have 900,000 homes for rent, low cost home-ownership, supported housing for those who are vulnerable as well as homes for sale. More than a quarter of people living in a housing association home in England live in a PlaceShapers home.
Along with Placeshapers members across the country, we pledged to volunteer some hours today to show we care about our residents, service users and the wider communities we work in, on We Care Day 2018. We're spending some time at We Are Ageing Better's IT drop-in and we're doing a collection for a local food bank.
Aside from today, our people do a lot that shows we care about our residents and service users, including We Are Ageing Better, the project we deliver with and for older people to reduce loneliness, the support we offer to young vulnerable people to gain life skills at our young people's service in Camden, our Financial Support work helping people with money worries, benefits and finding work or training through our Job Hubs, supporting people to live independently in our supported housing, and much more.
To find out more about the support services we offer, visit the Support area of our website.
Sylvia, one of our Support Workers, recently took it upon herself to do up the garden at Hillside, our learning disability scheme in Hertfordshire. This is how she did it and what our service users thought of it.
Retirement Scheme Manager Fatima explains what she does because she cares, for We Care Day 2018.
